What programs are being offered at Sheridan Global?
Sheridan Global will be offering a wide selection of programming designed to meet the varied needs of different students and emerging artists in Singapore.

Certificate - Art Fundamentals / Portfolio Development
The Art Fundamentals Program at Sheridan features a time-honoured foundation curriculum in the visual arts.  With its focus on drawing, design and painting, including art theory and studio practice, the program allows students to assess which area of the visual arts is most appropriate to their talent and ability. Project based courses develop a portfolio of work in various media.  Successful graduates can apply to major animation programs at Sheridan or other institutions, or seek entry-level employment opportunities requiring fundamental artistic skill.

Diploma - Animation

The 3 year diploma in animation gives students the opportunity to work in both traditional and contemporary approaches to the discipline.  Students will progressively explore animation, life drawing, story, layout and digital media concepts beginning with the fundamentals in a project based environment.


Graduate Certificate - Computer Animation
Designed for visual arts graduates and professionals looking to further their studies, the Computer Animation Program combines the art and craft of animation, and the acquisition of the new technological knowledge sweeping the industry.

Graduate Certificate - Digital Character Animation
Computer Animation - Digital Character Animation is an intensive one-year program that focuses on character performance and advanced character/creature creation.

Graduate Certificate - Visual Effects
Computer Animation - Digital Visual Effects is an intensive one-year program that focuses on the creative as well as the technical side of digital visual effects.

Sheridan will be offering up to 16 continuing education programs during the Fall and Spring semesters, including:

What other program opportunities will Sheridan offer?
Sheridan Global, in partnership with the Singapore Animator's Connection, will be offering a National Service Training program for interested students completing their National Service who wish to pursue a career in animation.

Who will be teaching the programs?
Teaching will be divided between representatives from our world-class Canadian faculty, who are industry professionals trained in our specific methodology, as well as local industry professionals and educators trained by our Institute to meet our highest standards of education in the classroom.

ADMISSIONS

Who should consider enroling with Sheridan Global?

  • Graduates of polytechnics and/or universities who wish to enter the animation industry

Joint Masters:
The Joint Masters program is targeted at individuals with an undergraduate degree in a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of formal education and professional experience). Students will be required to submit a completed application form and fee, three letters of reference, a sample of writing and a portfolio of recent work relating to digital media as well as sealed transcripts from any postsecondary institutions attended. Portfolios may be visual, aural or textual in nature (or any combination thereof), and may be submitted electronically or as hard copies.

Continuing Education
Separate continuing education courses will have different admission requirements, based on prerequisite study, portfolio submission or availability of placements.

Are these programs open only to Singaporeans?
While our campus will be physically located in Singapore, Sheridan Global plans to cater to students from all across the globe, including neighbouring regions and further abroad. For those students interested in studying in a new country, this presents a fantastic opportunity to experience a world-class education in an innovative and vibrant cultural environment.
